Changelog
What’s new.
The latest changes, newest first.
0.3.0
- Clear roles. The home screen now asks one question: control another device, or be controlled. Phones show one at a time; tablets and PCs show both side by side.
- Every device has an ID and password. On the device you want to control, choose Be controlled and read out its ID and password. Type them on the other device and press Connect. No account or linking needed.
- Android tablets and phones can be controlled by ID, like Windows PCs. They ask before letting anyone in unless you turn that off.
- New look across Windows, Android and the web app, with tidy device rows that line up on tablets in landscape.
- Linking devices with a code is still there under Your devices → Link a device, with plain instructions on where the code comes from.
0.2.0
- On Android: browse and download files from a controlled Windows PC, and wake a sleeping PC from the device card.
- Share a PC with someone for an hour to a week with a link and code, without giving them your account. You approve them on the PC and can stop it any time.
- Screenshots and recordings of a session, saved on your own device, and a one-click way back to the last PC you controlled.
- Wake a sleeping PC from the Devices page, through another awake Windows PC on the same network.
- Browse files on a controlled Windows PC and pull files over (read only).
- Windows shortcuts reach the other PC. The Windows key, Alt+Tab, Alt+F4 and similar go to the device you control while a session is running.
- Sound. Hear what a controlled Windows PC plays, in the browser and on Android.
Reliability
- Sessions move to a new network as soon as it changes and retry lost connections on their own.
- Picture quality steps down on a weak connection and back up when it recovers, with signal bars and a details panel in the viewer.
- Crash reports (scrubbed of personal details) help us fix problems; see Privacy.
Accounts and updates
- Delete your account from Settings → Account. Everything linked to it goes with it.
- The Windows app updates itself in the background and installs on restart.
