Nothing to install. Open CTRL in Safari or any browser and control your other devices from there.

Open CTRL in your browser

Apple devices can control your other devices, but can’t be controlled yet. We’ll say when that changes.

Installing it

On Windows

  1. Open CTRL-Windows-Setup.exe from your downloads.
  2. If Windows says it protected your PC, choose More info, then Run anyway. It says this about new apps it hasn’t seen often.
  3. Name this PC and press Start. To control it from elsewhere, choose Be controlled and use the ID and password it shows.
  4. CTRL starts with Windows and waits in the system tray, by the clock.

On Android

  1. Open CTRL-Android.apk from your notifications or downloads.
  2. When Android asks, allow your browser to install apps, then go back and tap Install.
  3. Open CTRL, press Get started, then choose Control another device or Be controlled.
  4. To let this phone be controlled, follow the setup steps for screen sharing and touch control.

In a browser

  1. Go to app.ctrl.chitemere.co.zw.
  2. Sign in with the same account as your other devices.
  3. On iPhone or iPad, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, to open it like an app.

Check your download

Every file has a SHA-256 checksum, listed above. If the one you work out matches, the file is exactly the one we published. On Windows, open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run:

Get-FileHash .\CTRL-Windows-Setup.exe
